The goal of the all girls swimming and basketball program is to give female community members the opportunity to exercise comfortably without the presence of men. These sessions are available at the local City Heights YMCA and offered once a week.
Dialogue with the Doctor is a monthly evening preventive health discussion led by a physician for refugee women to comfortably address health-related issues.
UWEAST is currently implementing an actionable prevention plan to improve the well-being of East African boys and men, by simultaneously targeting the sociocultural, physical/built, economic, and educational environments. The “Hub” is a safe space led by and for male youth and is supervised by trained peer counselors. It is open Friday through Sunday evenings from 6:00PM – 10:00PM.
